National Recovery Month allows us to support our family, friends, colleagues, neighbors and fellow community members who have made the brave, difficult and necessary choice of reclaiming their lives from drugs or alcohol. ![]() People in recovery, no matter how long they’ve been clean, need support and resources on every level, whether it’s in the doctor’s office, at home, at work or anywhere else. In a year when overdoses reached record highs, topping 93,000 for the first time in the history of the United States, it’s become glaringly apparent that addiction recovery is everyone’s concern, whether or not they’re directly affected by drugs or alcohol. This year’s National Recovery Month theme of “Recovery Is for Everyone” has never been more appropriate. ![]() Learn some of the ways you can celebrate National Recovery Month and support your friend or loved one. This year, there are more ways than ever to get involved. We’re officially a week into National Recovery Month 2021, a 30-day event organized by the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) to promote education and awareness toward addiction, de-stigmatize substance use disorder and celebrate the efforts and achievements of the recovery community.
